First day of school for Lauren! It was a very emotional drop off for us. The past year and a half has been dedicated to protecting her from germs and limiting her interactions with other kids. Now the doctors tell us she is ready to go back to “normal”. There goes that word again; what does it even mean? Nothing about this journey has been normal. We’ve had to keep her so close and do as much as possible to protect her. Today we had to start to let go and it was more difficult than I had anticipated.
Very fitting that she starts school on the first day of childhood cancer awareness month.
