“She did it! Vera beat cancer! Time to celebrate…” Here is a story directly from Vera’s Mom…
“Vera’s treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia began in November 2017 when she was 4 years old, and it has been a long road. Sometimes the weeks went well and Vera was at home and school feeling well. But sometimes, she wasn’t feeling well and chemo was too hard on her body and she had to spend time in the hospital and weeks out of school. Good days and bad days, we all felt the emotional stress of Vera’s cancer treatment and as a family, we stuck together to get through the days. This time was also hard for Vera’s 11-year-old big sister Tessa. Cancer affects someone’s family right alongside them. Especially childhood cancer in a 4-year-old girl.
In January 2020, Vera completed all of her treatment and is now a survivor and a healthy 6-year-old!!!! She did it! Vera beat cancer! Time to celebrate and Livfree generously asked us to join the wonderful Livfree family and gift our family some much-needed fun. We choose to go to Medieval Times in NJ for some Renaissance fun with knights, horses for jousting, falconry, a queen, and eating a meal with only your hands! We were in a castle and there was so much excitement in the 2-hour tournament show. Our family had the best time and we have never experienced something like that. Dan from LivFree was so kind and really wanted to give our family some time off to just have fun, be together as a family, and not have a worry in the world. Livfree went above and beyond our request and offered to accommodate us in a hotel overnight and a generous gift card. Because of their generosity, we were able to spend the next day at the Liberty Science CenterChildren’s Museum. We all had so much fun and we really savored the time to be silly, laugh, and be together. We are extremely grateful and thankful to LivFree for giving our family such a fun experience to have so much fun and have priceless family time together. We are proud to be part of the LivFree family.”
